In the Show Ring

2008/09 was a fantastic season in the ring for Marconi Ponies. Starting with Foal Shows, Marconi

(Weston Park Mercury x Weston Park Music) owned by Ballanbrae Stud had a great start
attending the VAHA and Magic Breed Foal Shows where she was awarded a Champion & 2 Reserve
Champions in her Arabian Pony Foal classes. Marconi Gold Strike

Cappacinno)
owned by Cardwell Park Stud also met with success at the NSW Foal Show being
awarded Champion Buckskin Foal and Reserve Champion Welsh B Foal.

Three ponies were out under saddle for their Newcomer year with Angela Carters Marconi Gold Effect
first off the rank competing at his very first event under saddle in May - the APOB Dressage Day.
Partnered by his young rider Jordy Wright, Muppet won his test out of 22 entries and was named
Highest scoring Welsh Pony and Highest scoring Junior. Muppet continued his success into the
showring being named Runner Up Newcomer Small Pony and Top Ten Rising Star Small Pony at the
EFA State titles, Top Ten Newcomer Small Pony at Barastoc Horse of the Year, Ridden Welsh Pony of
the Year - APSB Stud Show, Champion Childs Pony - Welsh Feature Show, Champion Childs Pony -
APSB Stud Show amongst countless Champion Small Saddle Pony awards at Agricultural Shows.

Marconi Madeline owned by Brooklyn Showhorses was Top Ten Newcomer Small Showhunter at
Barastoc HOTY as well as winning her Led Riding Pony Showhunter class at Barastoc and Champion
Led and Reserve Champion Ridden Show Hunter at the Victorian Riding Pony Pageant amongst
Champions and Reserves Led and Ridden at Agricultural Shows.

Pearl of Marconi blew us away with her success, just a few highlights, Australian National Champion
ARP 3 & 4 year old Filly at the Australian National Arabian Championships. Supreme Champion
Buckskin Exhibit - Melbourne Royal Horse Show, Supreme Champion Part Welsh Exhibit, Champion
Buckskin Exhibit, Reserve Champion Ridden Buckskin Exhibit - Geelong Royal Horse Show. Led
Newcomer Showhunter Pony of the Year and Top Four Ridden Newcomer Showhunter Large Pony of
the Year - Barastoc HOTY. Partnered by Rebecca Jones our beautiful Pearl won over 50 Supreme,
Champion and Reserve Sashes from just 12 shows in Led and Ridden classes.

Fantasia of Marconi down in Tassie ventured out from the broodmare paddock to attend a show for
her owners Suzie Worker and Leonie Kirkhope. She remembered all she knew and was awarded
Champion Sub Registry Buckskin, Reserve Champion Saddle Pony and Reserve Champion Hunter
Pony at Monds & Affleck Show.

Marconi Belladonna and owner Rachael Drysedale had a successful day out at Strathalbyn Hunt Club
Show. Rachael and Bella placed 1st led Welsh B and 1st Ridden Welsh B and went on to be awarded
Champion Ridden Welsh Exhibit.

The In Hand youngsters also did us proud with our own Marconi Diva
(Weston Park Mercury x Imperial
First Dance)
attending 4 shows over the season bringing home a broad sash from Welsh/Color
classes at each one. She was also a dual Foal Futurity winner winning her Welsh B Futurity at both
the APSB Stud Show and the Gippsland two day APSB show.

Marconi Gold Strike
(Tooravale Picasso x Bungalally Cappacinno) owned by Cardwell Park continued on
from his foal show success taking Champion Buckskin entire at Sydney Royal Show, Reserve
Champion Welsh B colt at the NSW All Welsh as well as several Grand Champion and Supreme
Championships amongst a host of Championship awards at Agricultural Shows.

Marconi Matrix
(Imperial Jerada x Weston Park Seren) owned by Vanessa O'Donnell was Champion
Arabian Pony Entire at Bathurst Royal Show, Reserve Champion Welsh B colt at the NSW Youngstock
Show and Championships at Castle Hill in Welsh & Arabian Pony classes.

Marconi Regal Secret
(Bamborough Academy x Llanfechan Ballerina) owned by Angela Gleeson made
his debut at the Victorian Welsh Feature Show and won his junior Section B gelding class and went
on to be Champion Junior Gelding under international judges amongst top competition.

Marconi Encore
(Weston Park Mercury x Llanfechan Ballerina) owned by Ballanbrae Stud debuted at the
Victorian Arabian Classic to win his Arabian Pony yearling colt class.

The weanlings were also out and about with filly Marconi Pennylane
(Weston Park Mercury x Kinleith
Saphire)
attending the Qld All Welsh show with her owner Debbie Emerson. Penny behaved
beautifully and placed 2nd in the Welsh foal class. They then attended the Sth East Youngstock show
and were placed 1st Arabian Pony foal under 1 year, 2nd Welsh B foal u1 year and 3rd Open breed
Buckskin foal u1 year.

Marconi Satine
(Tooravale Picasso x Glenvale Mia) owned by Ballanbrae Stud attended the Victorian
Arabian Classic where she won her Arabian Pony Foal class before continuing on to a very successful
foal show run as seen in our show news page.

We had 9 foals born for the season, 7 Welsh B and 2 Part Welsh.

Weston Park Mercury sired 3 foals for us -
a palomino colt out of Bungalally Cappacinno named M. Gold Rush continuing the successful line of
"Gold" Ponies,
a buckskin filly out of Kinleith Saphire named M. Pennylane
and a bay colt out of Imperial First Dance  M. Lets Dance full brother to our own M. Diva.

Tooravale Picasso gave us three fillies -
M. Flair chestnut filly out of WP Magnolia making her a half sister to our own WP Mercury
M. Satine chestnut partbred filly out of Glenvale Mia, the first foal for Mia
M. Cleopatra chestnut filly out of Imperial Shy Girl the first foal for Shy Girl

We also had three fillies by outside stallions -
M. Dior bay filly by Dutton Lea Select out of Dunelm Madeline. Dior is a half sister to our 2009
Australian National Champion ARP Pearl of Marconi and half sister to 2009 Australian National
Champion AP Rokewood Magenta.
M. All A Glitter Palomino filly by Bamborough Academy out of Imperial High Regard. The first foal for
our stud from Gretel and a half sister to M. Regal Secret.
M. Fairylights bay filly by Tooravale Phantom from Weston Park So Fair.
